NEWARK, N.J. – Graduate student Mikey Watkins (Roselle, N.J.) recorded a season-high 15 points, as the UMass Lowell men's basketball team (13-2, 1-0 AE) scored the final 13 points to prevail in a 67-64 comeback victory at NJIT (3-11, 0-1 AE) in the America East opener. Although the Highlanders led by 10 with under four minutes to play, the River Hawks continued to battle, using a 9-0 run that was capped off by a jumper from Watkins to cut the lead to just one with less than two minutes remaining.
